Town of Guilderland, NY
Dumpster rental in Guilderland
Guilderland gives people a choice: haul clean-out loads to the town transfer station off French's Mill Road, or have a container dropped at the house. The station's rules make the decision for many jobs.
Booking hours: Monday to Saturday 8 to 8, Sunday 8 to 1 (Eastern time)
Before you take a load to the station
- A Parks and Transfer Station decal on the vehicle, issued at the station, the Parks office or the Town Clerk; bring the registration
- Material from the Town of Guilderland only
- House, garage, attic and basement clean-outs Tuesday to Saturday, 7:30 to 3:30, never on the Wednesday evening hours
- The scales close at 3:30 every day
Rules and current charges are on the town's transfer station page.
Brush has its own limits
The station takes brush up to 12 inches thick if it's cut to 4-foot lengths, plus leaves and grass. It turns away stumps, root balls, dirt, sod, rocks and lumber.
Tearing out a hedge row with the roots, or lifting an old lawn? That's container work. Yard waste dumpsters.

Container or trailer?
If you work weekdays and the job is big, fitting several trips into the station's daytime window is hard. A container in the driveway can be loaded in the evenings and picked up when you're done.
A small job, one trailer load on a Saturday morning, is often easier to take in yourself.
Book a roll-off for your Albany address
Pick up the phone with three things in mind: the debris, the drop spot and your dates. A locally run, independent roll-off company picks up, recommends a container and quotes a drop-off day and a total.
This number is for rentals, not trash pickup. Albany's regular trash and recycling are handled by the city's Department of General Services.
